Introduction to the Highlands
|
|
The Highlands of Scotland is a truly massive and impressive area which stretches from Perthshire
to the very tip of the Scottish mainland at John o' Groats. It also includes famous islands such as the Isle of
Skye and is home to Britain’s highest mountain in Ben Nevis, seen left, and its deepest area of water
at Loch Ness - what could be hiding down there?

As well as the amazing scenery there are famous castles to visit, such as Dunrobin Castle shown right, forts,
tragic battlefields, distilleries and woollen mills. The major towns of Inverness and Fort William are ideal bases to explore this
land of contrasts.
