Introduction to Aberdeenshire
	Aberdeenshire is Castle and Whisky country and stretches from the east coast at Aberdeen to Royal Deeside in the centre of Scotland. In fact, there are more castles near Aberdeen than anywhere else in Britain. In the north of the area, the coast has many picturesque fishing villages whilst the Whisky Trail will lead you to the many distilleries to be found around the countryside.
Away from the coast there are mountains and hills to admire and Royal Deeside to explore where the Royal Family have their holiday retreat. The River Dee near Balmoral is shown on the right.
