Urquhart Castle |

Urquhart Castle is situated half way down the western side of Loch Ness and is the
favourite location for monster hunters. Once one of the largest castles in Scotland, the
remains seen today date from the 16th century. It was blown up in 1692 by government
forces to prevent the Jacobites from occupying it.
