Strathspey Railway - Aviemore |
| Description: |
The Strathspey Railway runs over part of the original mainline from
Aviemore to Inverness. This
route was abandoned when a new more direct route was opened which is still in use today (the tracks on the left). The Strathspey
Railway currently runs from Aviemore station to Boat of Garten and has recently been extended to
Broomhill with an eventual target of Grantown-on-Spey. This view shows a train arriving at the
temporary station at Aviemore which was used before permission to use the ScotRail Aviemore station was granted.
